I have my Ph.D. in English Literature from Florida State University, where I earned the Editing and Publishing Certificate. While completing my graduate work, I worked as the managing editor for the Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies. I was formerly a staff book-reviewer and editorial columnist for FantasyLiterature.com.
Currently I work on a freelance basis as a developmental editor, working on non-fiction and fiction projects for Nautilus Publications in Oxford, MS; I also teach courses on science-fiction, fantasy, and fairy-tales (among other subjects) at the University of Mississippi. In addition to taking speculative-fiction writing workshops online at The Brainery and in person at Writespace Houston, I completed an editing workshop with Julia Rios, culminating in editing issue 5, “The Animal Body,” of Remixt Magazine.
